SLI Systems is a fast growing SaaS company; a leading provider of search and navigation solutions to ecommerce businesses. SLI Systems was founded in New Zealand and has been very successful in the US market and is now looking for an experienced VP of Marketing to take it to the next level. The new VP will join our growing US team, managing the existing marketing staff and working with the rest of SLI (based in the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand).
SLI is positioned as a thought leader in search and navigation, publishing monthly newsletters for the past four years, podcasting, blogging, speaking and writing articles about site search and navigation. The new VP will be responsible for further strengthening this position. We are looking for a dynamic person that has had experience guiding fast growing software companies.
You will be responsible for:
Corporate marketing - working with the CEO to craft vision, mission, strategy and high level positioning. There will also be some limited marketing to the investment community.
Creating and executing the marketing plan.
Work with CEO/CFO to define the marketing budget and KPIs each year. Manage expenses and report on ROI.
Create a best in class marketing operations function by developing the department’s methodologies, processes and procedures
Includes working with sales team to execute the lead management and follow-up function responsible for building the sales pipeline
Working with the management team to contribute to the overall direction of the company (regular strategy meetings held in New Zealand)
Product marketing - working with the NZ based product manager (launch of new products, messaging & promotion around new and existing products, giving input on product direction)
Develop, implement and manage client and prospect communication strategy (includes shows, PR, analyst relations, webinars, email marketing, whitepapers, etc)
Manage external vendors and resources including PR agencies, CRM, data, and other marketing technology providers.
Work with other groups within SLI to develop training materials and other communications to drive knowledge transfer to the sales and client service teams.
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required, masters degree in related field preferred, MBA preferred.
10+ years in marketing, including 7+ years with increasing responsibilities and exceptional performance in marketing and management.
Demonstrated hands-on experience developing business to business marketing operations strategies, preferably in an on-demand/SaaS delivery model environment.
